Diet
If possible you want to keep your dog on an organic healthy diet. Some dog foods have too much different stuff in them, which may be healthy for humans, but not necessarily for dogs. Dogs are meat eaters, so the first ingredient and the majority of their food should be meat. If you don’t want to deal with processed dog food, then you always have the option of feeding them things like meat and rice. These are healthy for dogs as long as you mainly stick to meat.
Exercise
It's hard to get your dog outside in the winter, but exercise is very important for a dog’s immune system just as it is important for humans. Exercise will give their body the energy it needs to heal itself and to make the immune system stronger. Taking your dog for a walk or spending time playing with them will help boost their body’s natural system.
Hydration
While exercise is important, it is also important to keep your dog hydrated with clean water. It is so easy for us to just throw some water into a large dish and let them take a few licks every now and then. It is so important to change the water every day. Give your dog fresh water. Just like we enjoy having fresh water, so do they and it is better for them! Also, don’t forget to clean their dish. Dishes that are constantly wet can grow bacteria and can negatively affect your dog’s immune system.
Keeping
them away from Harmful things
There are so many things to watch out for. You have to make sure you are keeping an eye on your dog when you let them out. Make sure they are not getting into anything harmful. There are weeds and plants that can be harmful to them that might be sitting in your backyard without you knowing. There also may be berries or fruit that are growing in or near your house that could be harmful to them. Dog’s can and will eat anything. Just make sure you aren’t letting them ingest unnatural or harmful things. This will greatly help your dog’s health and immunity to future diseases.
